APPLICATION GUIDELINES

 

This course is designed specifically for creative practitioners and students of the visual arts who come from a range of creative backgrounds and who want to develop their technical, creative and professional potential in animation .

 

The application process is competitive and decisions will be made based on evidence from the application form itself, from submitted portfolio work, as well as from individual responses at the interview process.

It is expected that applicants possess a creative background ranging from Illustration, Computer Graphics, Fine Art/Design, Film/Media.

What is most important is the participant’s commitment to the development of their professional animation skills, and the showcasing of their creative and technical ability to undertake all elements of the training programme.

Applications should be accompanied by an up to date CV and a portfolio of creative works.

 

COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The course aims to:-

-Enable creative practitioners to develop both technical and creative animation skills.

- Help participants acquire the appropriate professional knowledge of the animation process, through the skilful manipulation of Toon Boom Software, particularly with a view to supporting the future development of both their personal and professional practice in the field of animation.

-Offer an intensive small group experience, that promotes team work and professionalism through a cross pollination of ideas and diverse creative skill sets.

After completing the training, participants will be better equipped to progress to higher level qualifications in animation, and towards acquiring roles within the new and emerging animation sector in Barbados and the wider Caribbean region.
